Development of Contractor/Construction Safety and Decommissioning Guidebooks and Providing Support
ES&M recently developed two critical contractor/construction safety and decommissioning guidebooks and associated toolkits that may be turned into Company Standards after internal customer feedback. The Contractor/Construction Safety Guidebook, toolkit, and training program will be used by our client to support the management of a variety of construction projects in the U.S. and globally. The toolkit, while OSHA-based, also includes a system for pre-qualifying contractors and supports the management of risk (by prevention through design reviews, project reviews, rigorous inspections, and holding contractors accountable for near misses and incidents). The Decommissioning Guidebook outlines an integrated approach, and the associated toolkit provides checklists and tools to ensure EH&S compliance, and safe and timely execution of projects to achieve the desired “End State.” The Decommissioning Guidebook is focused on laboratories and light manufacturing facilities. Our client’s EH&S managers are finding it extremely helpful as they move operations and decommission sites.
